Trail Runner Mom,
Do you have suggestions for me about trail running shoes? Preferred TR shoes?
Barry Stoner
Barry,
At this point in my running career I am using Altra’s. My feet have widened from 17 years of ultra running (and bearing kids). I was getting numbness and pain in the ball of my left foot and the right was beginning to have the same issues. Altra’s have illeviated the problem and I am grateful. Truthfully though all shoes should have wide toe boxes. Our toes are supposed to splay as we walk and run. Most shoes do not have the room for that. The only challenge I see for some with the Altra’s is that they are also zero drop.if you have tight calf muscles this could be a problem if you do not work your way down.
Everybody is different and it is impossible to create a trail running sneaker that works for everyone.
This is what works for me. I can only.suggest you give it a try and see how it goes.
